TenPoint Introduces Ultra High-End Venom Xtra™
/ January 4th, 2016Mogadore, OH. High-tech crossbow manufacturer TenPoint Crossbow Technologies introduced its new Venom Xtra at the opening of the 2016 ATA Show in Louisville, KY on January 5. Featuring a laminated wood stock, this crossbow is designed for the discriminating hunter, shooting enthusiast or collector wanting the very best.
The NEW Venom Xtra’s stock assembly features a precision-crafted, laminated wood stock, a benchmark for crossbow aesthetics. This classic, heirloom-quality stock – richly rendered in a durable weather-resistant semi-gloss finish with a non-slip rubber butt plate – will withstand years of rugged use in the woods.
Its embedded 19.9-inch carbon fiber barrel rests on rubber inserts and dual-purpose rubber safety wings to reduce noise and vibration and to help keep the shooter’s fore-grip hand safely below the flight deck. This new stock and shortened barrel configuration is a compact 35-inches long.
The bow assembly features TenPoint’s popular XLT™ riser equipped with 11-inch, tactical-black IsoTaper™ Limbs powered by the company’s HE2™ (Hybrid Eccentric 2) cams, optimized for this design, and DynaFLIGHT 97 string and cables with a hard yoke system. The result is an XLT bow assembly that is narrower-than-standard, at 13.25-inches, with a longer-than-standard power stroke, at 13.5-inches.
The 185-pound Venom Xtra weighs 6.7 pounds and shoots up to 372 feet per second.

Equipped with the ACUdraw™ or ACUdraw 50™, TenPoint’s patented cocking units, and RangeMaster Pro™ scope, the model sells only as a complete package that includes arrows, quiver, Side-Mount Quiver Bracket, soft case, SDS™ (String Dampening System), and Bowjax limb, stirrup, barrel, and retention spring dampeners.
